A Design Technique for Polyphase Decimators with Binary Constrained Coefficients for High Resolution A/D Converters

چکیده
This paper presents a design technique for high fidelity multistage decimation filters based on the polyphase and decimator structures presented in [1][2], catering for powers of two sample-rate decreases. The technique is well suited for Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) applications in excess of 16 bit resolution. The resulting filter coefficients are constrained to the required bit length using a "bit flipping algorithm" [3]. This technique is comparatively presented through an example of a cascaded decimation filter, designed for a 20-bit resolution ADC and compared to with other approximation methods. The coefficients and frequency responses of the cascaded filter are reported.

Relative clause attachment ambiguity resolution in Persian
The present study seeks to find the way Persian native speakers resolve relative clause attachment ambiguities in sentences containing a complex NP of the type NP of NP followed by a relative clause (RC). Previous off-line studies have found a preference for high attachment in the present study, an on-line technique was used to help identify the nature of this process. Persian speakers were pre...
متن کاملAssessment of Weighting Functions Used in Oppermann Codes in Polyphase Pulse Compression Radars
Polyphase is a common class of pulse compression waveforms in the radar systems. Oppermann code is one of the used codes with polyphone pattern. After compression, this code has little tolerant against Doppler shift in addition to its high side lobe level. This indicates that the use of Oppermann code is an unsuitable scheme to radars applications. This paper shows that the use of amplitude wei...
متن کاملTwo approaches for fixed-point filter design: "bit-flipping" algorithm and constrained downhill simplex method
This paper presents two techniques for the design of digital filters with wordlength-constrained coefficients, the bit-flipping algorithm improved since it was first presented in [l] and the Downhill Simplex Method [2] modified to deliver fixed-point filter coefficients. Both techniques can be applied to design of filter coefficients from scratch or to the optimisation of their floatingpoint ve...
متن کاملScaling and Roundoff Noise in Multistage Interpolators and Decimators
In this paper we present novel methods for scaling and roundoff noise calculation in multistage interpolators and decimators. When a signal is upsampled by L it becomes Cyclo-Wide-Sense Stationary (CWSS) which prevents the use of common design algorithms for scaling. When a signal is downsampled by M the situation is simpler since the stationarity is preserved, however, that case will still be ...
متن کاملImproving adaptive resolution of analog to digital converters using least squares mean method
This paper presents an adaptive digital resolution improvement method for extrapolating and recursive analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The presented adaptively enhanced ADC (AE-ADC) digitally estimates the digital equivalent of the input signal by utilizing an adaptive digital filter (ADF). The least mean squares (LMS) algorithm also determines the coefficients of the ADF block. In this sch...
